If you have been waiting for the mini version of the popular and recently announced Samsung Galaxy S5 then let me tell you that we are on the same boat. Samsung Galaxy S5 premium variant have long been rumored, even before the announcement of the all plastic Galaxy S5. The premium variant is said to have a 2K display and metal chassis along with a host of features. Now it turns out that every company has sort of made a standard to bring about one big and one small version of their popular smartphones.
Companies like HTC, LG and Sony are already in the game of Mini and Max smartphones. Samsung is also one of the leading companies to offer size variants to the customers. Currently smartphones like HTC One,Sony Xperia Z1, Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and the not so popular Micromax canvas Turbo have their mini size variant selling in the market.
Sony sometime back launched the Xperia Z1 compact with amazing hardware on board. What happens with a lot of compact smartphones is that the company cuts not only on the size but also trims the hardware to make it mini but with Xperia Z1 compact Sony has made a change in the trend. It would be interesting to see if Samsung is trimming just on the size or the scissor also trims the hardware to make it small. Stay tuned.
